BIOHANA reflects the values that lie at the heart of Nature Bio Foods. The word combines “bio,” standing for our focus on clean, sustainable food, and “ohana,” which means family. It reflects how we bring together our commitment to organic principles and our people-first approach. This idea shapes how teams operate across the NBF facility, where every role supports the other, and every person plays a part in keeping things moving smoothly.

At our Maasvlakte facility in Rotterdam, every hour, trucks roll in and out, organic produce is inspected, cleaned, packed, and prepared for global markets. The people featured in this article are part of that everyday effort. They show what BIOHANA looks like in real situations, where timelines are tight and standards are high. Their focus, reliability, and sense of ownership help maintain the quality NBF is known for. Here’s a closer look at BIOHANA in action.

Osemeke Ozabo – Warehouse Coordinator

From the outside, facility operations might appear routine, but step inside, and you will find a world of organic excellence. For Osemeke, no two days are ever the same. As an important member of the Warehouse team, he plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations, from receiving shipments to dispatching goods and keeping all documentation in order.

“We handle a variety of materials and keep everything on schedule, from packaging timelines to dispatch readiness,” he says with quiet confidence. “The CO₂ cleaning tanks and packaging lines are running efficiently, and our job is to make sure every step stays on track and well-coordinated.”

Osemeke is also in constant contact with transporters, clients, and the internal team. Communication, he says, is key.

“We use communication tools to share batch numbers, unloading times, container photos — this helps all teams stay updated. It’s fast and saves a lot of time.”

What excites him most about the job is its connection to a larger cause.

“I have been interested in sustainability since my studies. Now I get to work in a place that deals with organic and sustainable food. It feels real and meaningful.”

He adds that working here has changed his own routine. He’s more active and always planning the next task.

“Working in an advanced facility like this takes strong teamwork. Every task is connected, and everyone plays their part. The support here is genuine, people are always ready to help each other out.”

Renmah Fatah – Shift Incharge, Production

In the operations team, flexibility is a must. Renmah works closely with the storage and packaging teams to keep the process running. Whether it’s coordinating rice cleaning — 20 MT/hour using Bühler machinery — or overseeing material shifts between departments, his work touches almost every part of the facility.

“Communication is the key to what I do,” says Renmah. “With so many processes running in sync, from the lines to the cleaning tanks to packaging, staying connected ensures everything runs on time and with precision.”

One of his proudest memories was during a company event at the facility.

“I gave a short speech. I looked around at the team, the state-of-the-art facility, the packaging lines, the green plant with Cimbria equipment — and I just felt proud. We built something strong here.”

He believes that in any food company, safety must come first.

“You can’t build anything long-term without food safety. At Nature Bio Foods BV, regular audits and continuous inspections ensure that every product meets the highest standards. That’s how we improve quality, build trust, and grow.”

Vishesh Sharma – Store and Commercial

Vishesh joined the Rotterdam team recently, after spending three years with Nature Bio Foods in India. He works in the store and commercial department and supports facility operations.

“Nature Bio Foods is a strong, future-focused company. Organic food isn’t just a trend — it’s the way forward. What motivates me most is knowing that our work supports healthier lives and encourages clean, sustainable farming. That’s a mission I truly believe in.”

Vishesh also appreciates the scale and setup of the facility.

“We have everything: automatic weighbridge, cleaning systems, enough space to store and process large volumes. Nature Bio Foods always gives you the opportunity to learn, explore, and grow. You can do real work here and reach new heights.”

Ashish Pandey – Quality Assurance Executive

While the storage and operations teams are moving goods, Ashish is focused on something equally important: quality. As QA Executive, he oversees checks, documentation, and compliance at every stage, from raw material arrival to final dispatch.

“We don’t take shortcuts. My job is to make sure everything is clean, safe, and as per the standards. I deal with processing, testing, planning; all to make sure the product is right before it goes out.”

Ashish works closely with multiple departments. That exposure, he says, has made the job even more valuable.

“I like to describe my work as a rainbow. I get to learn from everyone: commercial, warehouse, dispatch. Every day, I pick up something new.”

One thing that stands out for him is the diversity at the facility.

“We have people from different countries, speaking different languages, bringing different strengths. That makes the work environment better and more creative.”

Ashish also shares a clear vision for the future.

“As the organic market expands, so does our responsibility. Strengthening food safety systems is essential to protect consumers, honour the work of farmers, and ensure every packet we deliver meets the highest standards. At Nature Bio Foods, that commitment is built into everything we do.”

Final Thoughts

Every day at Nature Bio Foods Europe, hundreds of small actions come together, each one essential to keeping the BIOHANA running with care and precision.

It starts with cleaning grains through our CO₂ tanks, ensuring quality from the first step. In the green plant, 5 MT of farm-grade material are processed every hour using Cimbria equipment imported from Austria. Over at the rice plant, 20 MT/hour are cleaned using advanced Bühler machinery.

While all this happens, packaging lines run across multiple shifts, weighing, sealing, and preparing organic products for shipment. Documents are checked, pallets are moved, and exports are coordinated across our 20,000 m² facility, supported by an automatic weighbridge and a 15,000-pallet storage capacity.
