Our Story
A Rich Legacy of Creating Impact
Nature Bio Foods (NBF) has a rich legacy of creating social, environmental and economic impact in lives of thousands of farm families through sustainable farming and fair prices for crop yields. It all started in 1993 when LT Foods began successful exports of Basmati rice. Three years later, the first organic seed of organic Basmati was sown. In 1996, the company made its first shipment of organic Basmati rice to a European retail chain.
In 1997, Nature Bio Foods (NBF) was incorporated, marking the beginning of its journey as an organic food ingredient farming and supply company. Over the years, NBF continued to expand its portfolio of rice varieties, adding new options in 2002.
In 2011, NBF Uttaranchal ICS was certified as ‘Fair-Trade,’ and the company embarked on one of the biggest organic Fair-Trade bases. The following year, NBF received NPPO from the Directorate of Plant Protection Quarantine and Storage to export rice to the USA.
NBF continued to expand its offerings, with its first export of organic cashews to Europe in 2013. The following year, NBF achieved Bio Suisse and Naturland certification for its Ramnagar ICS.
In 2015, NBF ventured into consumer brands with the launch of the Ecolife brand in the USA. The company continued to grow, installing a CO2 pressure treatment facility for milling and undergoing its first BRC audit certification in 2016.
The following year, NBF achieved EIC approval for its IPQC lab oil seed membership and formalized its NBF Inc. operations in the USA. In 2018, the Ecolife plant was added to BRC certification, and NBF Europe kicked off its operations in Rotterdam.
In 2019, NBF achieved another milestone, completing 26 glorious years of operations. The company achieved Demeter certification, and it launched its Make Every Day Green Initiative, a sustainability project.
In 2022, NBF increased its production capacity, with the ability to process up to 125,000 MT of grain per year. Throughout its journey, NBF has remained committed to providing high-quality, organic food ingredients to customers around the world.
